Still one of the most haunting songs I've heard...

Flying Nun Records, in general, is pretty superb, but this song is just spectacular. The guitar is appropriately haunting and poppy at the same time and it's all just so infectious!

Wow Martin philips has such a great point He will be lost with out her and yet what will he do now that shes gone? Also does that scare crow of him signify that he scared her away and that hes the only one left in away?

Specifically, what's the song about?

the song is about a lover who has in some way killed his lover. It's his fault, now he is frozen with the guilt of responsibility and the loss of his love. The song is obviously more beautiful than this rough summary.

A very good song!
But I would have liked the snare drum sound low/mid freqs boosted, and/or the high freqs cut a bit to give the drums a bit more emphasis.
The quick drum rolls at the middle and end of the song seem out of place. A simpler skip beat or similar would have been better.
Minor issues, but the song is otherwise still very good!
