NTV has dared question the Kremlin line about the war in Chechnya and has vigorously pursued high level corruption involving the Prosecutor General and the Kremlin. The recent coup and forcible change of management at the Russian TV station was the climax of a year of state harrassment. Authorities mounted dozens of raids on NTV and its parent company Media-Most in the name of investigating debts to the state gas monopoly, Gazprom. Week after week, masked paramilitaries and investigators stormed in, siezing documents and interrogating over 200 staff.

CNN was Lying all day alone about this Georgian Aggression, making an aggressor a victim, I was watchin when one African American anchorman asked a question very clear, why Georgia attacked over night?
and you needed to see how he trap himself by lying that Russians started to attack Georgia, not Georgia was there killing all Ossetians!
Get real people, there are no CNN correspondent in Moscow to interview the Medvedev? or in Ossetia to interview the victims?

Ok now they have "independent" RenTV.
Every day they say that Putin is bad. I never voted Putin, but these guys really hate him.

Kukli has been off the air for a while now. Russia has and always has been, is and will be, the way things are going, a totalitarian, to a degree, gov't.

Secondly, what you western people call "independent media"? Media can't be independent at all, it can be more or less objective or not objective. NTV media was PROPOGANDA, not "indenpendent" and not objective. That is why allmost not anyone of russian people protect NTV.

It wasn't independent media ! What are you western people talking about ? It was controlled by Gusinskii (you can see him on screen) who is so called russian oligarh. This ntv media wasn't obgective at all. They anly say and show what mr. Gusinskii tell them say and show.
