"Oh Freedom" is one of the anthems of the 1960's Civil Rights Movement. Joan Baez marched in Alabama and Mississippi with Dr. King, SNCC, CORE et al. Singing this song at her concerts help to spread the message of freedom. Miss Baez, the Original SNCC Freedom Singers(Cordell Reagon, Bernice Johnson-Reagon, Charles Neblett and Rutha Harris), and Fannie Lue Hamer made this a very popular song.

i'm only seventeen, but i have all of her 60-70 stuff downloaded, and have yet to even touch anything beyond that. like, bowery songs? i heard one song and it sounds do different. i'll stick to old joan
