Yes, Asimo has good AI but I think it still needs help. I've noticed in a lot of conventions and Asimo shows, the floor/stage where Asimo is has little squares lining up to form some kind of path. I've also noticed that Asimo follows those paths to his destination, if I'm not mistaken.

It's not JUST testing. They add a new program to ASIMO so it can decide its own path. Didn't you know that ASIMO in other videos was being controlled by human?
