I really don't find the recoil from my HK91 to be particularly powerful. I hear this complaint often about the HK but it hasn't been true in *my* experience. There's a powerful concussive force produced by the rifle but it's mostly absorbed by the compensator, and I think the actual felt recoil is not much stronger than my SKS. I could shoot it all day long. A Mosin Nagant...now there is a rifle that will destroy your shoulder.

I was a G3 man for some 20years, until I got my FN FAL(L1A1), I will never go back. Ever!

The Recoil on the G3 is ridiculous! Notice how much time it took for the guy in this video to recover from the blowback. It's a damn heavy gun too.

I am a G3 man myself .I have an HK91 and I love it - great sights, solid as hell, easy to clean, and looks extremely badass especially with the wide handguard and PSG-1 grip that I have. But I do love the FAL too and I hope to buy one(with wooden furniture!) if they're not outlawed by O'Bama in the near future. Love the swept back angle of the pistol grip and the streamlined profile of the FAL!
Great background music in this video. Sounds like jazz fusion, like Weather report and Jaco Pastorius

I used to have an FN FAL.
It was heavy (about twice as heavy as the m16), it's accuracy was terrible on auto mode... mostly due to the really strong blowback
It jammed way too often, was as annoying as hell to dismantle and clean up, and finally it made loud clinging noises when walking around with it, which makes it terrible for secret operations. Only good thing with it is it's excellent accuracy in single mode fire shots with 7.62 rounds that do more damage than nato 5.56

Bakelite? What is it exactly?
vVogeltjes (November 13, 2008 at 9:04 am)
It's a hard synthetic resin, the closest thing to plastic before plastic was invented, developed in the early 1900s by Belgian Dr. Leo Baekeland. If you've ever seen one of those old dialphones from before the 60s or so, they were made from bakelite.

@ vVogetltjes
Thanks I found that helpful! How would you compare it's strength with that of Gaston Glock's Polymer????

I'm no expert but I think it's safe to say that Glock's and all other modern polymers are much more durable, bakelite has a tendency to become somewhat brittle after a number of years.
