IMMA FIRIN MY LAZERWASH
BackThis is a PDQ Laserwash 4000. Normally these things just fail by design. Addition of a 2-stage ASSFOAM presoak (base + acid) makes this one actually clean, but it STINKS!
It somehow managed to assfoam me in the face, even though the window and door were closed... I don't know why, but PDQ washes have gotten water into every vehicle I've ever put them through. Ryko high impact washes, despite having water flying at a greater velocity, do not! I'm guessing this is due to atomization of fine droplets? Whatever. I replaced the audio to remove the copious swearing that occurred after getting assfoam to the eyes!
Just for the record, it did get my car clean. It did, however, also high-pressure wax my brake linings, a/c and alternator belts. Squeeeeeeeech...

The R.O. system creates no odor. If it's a foul moldy odor, however, this may be due to bacterial growth. Unfortunately, some operators do use reclaim water with no disinfection system, so it grows SLIME!!! Ozone or UV sterilizer systems are, in my opinion, a must. Otherwise, you're gonna get stinkiness.
I do know that some presoaks contain sulfur.
Also, when the base and acid stages of a 2-stage presoak react, it can lead to some stinkiness due to ingredients of both being outgassed.

It is like water again. The owner let most of the chemicals run out!!
This is part of why I like Ryko machines better. They have better diagnostic systems which will complain quite noticeably if the machine runs low, or out, of chemicals. I can't even tell if Laserwash 4000 machines have sensors for that!

And, the other day, I saw a similar one delivering a comically stripey presoak... undoubtedly leading to a very stripey car. It was downright surreal; the machine dispensed perfect horizontal bands of presoak. If you were to have put a red car in there, it would have come out looking like Waldo's shirt.
Yes, you found Waldo. No, he is not clean. XD

It really is reminiscent of flatulence.
I try not to take my newer car through these things after discovering just how many operators use hydrofluoric acid in their mix. I have good glass and don't want to see it frosted.
