also it would be one of many times JL has stolen a song, just ask any mariah or usher fan, usher was in a lawsuit at one stage , but i don't know what happen there.

acctually mariah was gonna use this sample for "loverboy", but as M was no longer with sony, head of sony tommy m. wanted to break her career down, so got JL to use it in her song "i'm real" and released it 1 month b4 mariah was set to, M ended up changing the song using Cameos "candy", but if you listen to the remix of loverboy when da brat is rapping it goes bak into the firecracker sample & da brat raps "hate on me as much as u want 2, u cant do what the f*ck i do ... basically an F U to JL.

Don't think that's the case. The opening track you're referring to is from a Rick James song, "Mary Jane," not this YMO tune.

Not sure if you're addressing me, AriesTRam, so sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick.

This band's version of this track (it was originaly by Martin Denny) was used as the backing for Jeniffer Lopez's "I'm Real" single.

That said they did do two seperate single releases here in the UK. The second, a hip hop style re-mix (featuring Jah Rule if I remember rightly), didn't feature the YMO orchestra sample. Maybe you mean that version?

Billy: I believe you are correct, the Jah Rule version is the one I'm thinking of. "Firecracker" and "Mary Jane" by Rick James sound a bit similar, though.
