F-16, Luke, 03 Right is a couple hundred ft forward of 03 Left. Altimeter says 1240 and radar altimeter says 140, field is 1100, Luke is 1085 MSL, Nellis is 1867, both bases have exact same runway layout. In afternoon jets on final for 03 Left will shadow over Right runway. He saw a jet on left lower than him create a shadow under him. When they look down they see jet on left not right runway, tower controller is sorry for not reporting parallel traffic.

I can't believe the Air Traffic Controller just said, "Sorry 'bout that, sir" like "oh, it's no big deal"!!

That Controller should be beaten with a bat! Could have cost those to their lives!

In my opinion Aviation should rethink the terminology of a "Near Miss". If you nearly miss something that means you almost missed it which is in fact hitting it. It should be called a near hit because it nearly hit it. Make sense? :) Good video by the way.

Your reasoning is suspect sir. It's not a 'nearly' miss but a near (close) miss. They missed but they came near to each other.

Second aircraft or own shadow or UFO. Confused pilot or confused ATC. Nellis or not Nellis. Does it REALLY even matter one way or the other?
