Musique géniale pour une chorégraphie sans intérêt et bien peu inventive (elle propose toujours les mêmes mouvements). Pina Bausch ne sert pas la musique elle s'en sert. A-t-elle jamais ouvert la partition du Sacre ? Sait-elle même lire la musique ? Le statisme des danseurs face à l'élue est désolant. En comparaison, la chorégraphie de Béjart est géniale et n'a pas pris une ride. Un succès surfait...

and intense piece. and intense pure performance. no hiding. and all done in front of a camera and not a live aucience. but all one take. no cuts

Emotionnaly intense. But I do prefer Béjart interpretation, a vision more primitive and organic of the Rite.

Pina Bauschs theater is great stuff, but at the same time do not forget to support 3rd Division Wuppertaler SV where poor people from Wuppertal go to forget their sorrow... :)

I realise this is probably late, but the best way to see a Pina Bausch performance on DVD is through the library. I know the New York public library has some, but you have to request permission to see them so give yourself some time for the request to be made sometime. As far as I know they aren't for sale.
