colder air has more O2 molecules, thus more fuel can be added to maintain an efficient ratio, thus more energy is released in combustion

i meant petrol versions of subaru boxer's engine..

i studied them as an apprentice and had to understand almost all sorts of engines.. subaru boxer diesel is relatively new and we haven't got it yet here in australia :)

so the diesel with a chain as compared to the petrol which has a belt..hmm.. interesting.. it also has twin-camshafts and looks to be direct injection. I bet it'll have quite a fair bit of vibration considering it's a boxer?
