That's what I don't like about Chinese, no offense. You are still bitching about things that happened a millenia ago. You still hold grudges for events as far back as the Mongolian invasions in the 1100's. Chinese well-informed with history basically hate everyone, because practically everyone has done something to China. It's all over now. Move on, already.

Japan spends about 1% of it's annual GDP on defense, so the exact number varies from year to year. The US is not funding the SDF. In fact, Japan pays a large part of funding the US troops in Japan, ironically.

I like your English:)I am not sure who you were responding to. It is a cool video. Does anybody know how much Japanese funding there is for the JSDF because I thought that The Japanese government spends a lot more on biotechnology and robotics. So is the U.S helping fund the JSDF?

"proud of our achievements."?
Europeans certainly have done many great achievements. Such as calculus, analysis philosophy and quantum physics.

But if you consider sin as achievement, raping around is something worth be proud. I am afraid that your morality is self-contradicted.

And what do you want me to do ? Oh my family, 50 generations ago went on a crusade ! oooOooh i am so embarrased, maybe i should go to people infected by it and beg for forgivenes? . . . I don't think so, i think i will be thankfull to my relatives that did all this 50 generations ago. Why? Well i live in a top 10 richest country in the world, thats why. I can go EVERYWHERE with my kickass passport.
Guess Mr.Moral here comes from the republic of happy- tree-friends-wonder-candy-land?

I don't think one should feel shamed for any mistakes from others.
On the other hand, I don't either think one should proud of the achievement that is NOT made by himself, especially such an achievement is based upon other countries' misfortune.

I lived in a one of the richest cities in the world, but I was proud of nothing from it, for I never contributed anything to it. (just my way of thinking)

I am part of this society, i contribute to it by have been serving in its military defence. and today i contribute to the GDP. This country lets me be a part of it, and because of that i accept and honor past events that has brought it to where it is today. Thereby lets me take a bite of that sweet cake called highly-developed-country-cake.

The way I see it... I don't think anyone should be ashamed of things that happened so long ago that none of the people from that era would be alive anymore anyways...

The problem with my thinking is that, some people today are effecting by things that happened 100s of years ago. Almost EVERYONE EVERYWHERE was effected by EVERYTHING that happened over 1,000s of years ago.

I also live in the USA... who unlike some countries, didn't humiliate itself 100s of years ago. It is doing it NOW.
