if the person who the cursed man/woman was there and stayed loyal, the curse would be lifted. But yeak, Davy Jones was stuck with the job because Calypso was not there

him having to ferry lost souls at sea to the afterlife. i think they deleted a scene saying that after 10 years, he was good to be free again, but in the movie it gave the impression that he could only go on land once a day every 10 years

i never knew beckett and norrington were different people wow IDK i'm going to watch all the movies again and it would have helped if u put on sound...i wanted to hear what was going on in the video not some sound tracks =/
