I am a rockfan myself, but I have to agree on what was said earlier. Rock, Isnt a very complex type of music, but you can make genius things in every kind of music, Look at radiohead for example, the way how that bring their music, their climaxes etc.
I also have to agree that Jazz, is one of the more complex types of music. For Jazz you need 2.. no 3 things, the first 2 are: 'the feeling' and 'creativity', those 2 together makes 'jazz feeling'.. and for that you really really need to be black

Miles helped change the face of jazz three separate times in the course of his career. Bitches brew was considered the beginning of "fusion". His phrasing was fantastic and his choice of musicians was superb.

Stones0731 what an ignorent comment. Jazz next to classical music is one of the mosy difficult, confusing, and complex genre of music out there. Rock (Don't get me wrong if love rock) has a simple structure and not diffucult to create.

thats my point dog. jazz is very complex, though it's about using your ear therefore not as complex as many make it out to be. my point was that they both could be either simple or complex. you can add jazz rules to rock and get some bangin rock. or vice versa me thinks. i wasnt real clear though.
