That's "blue-eyed merle", Plant's dog was a Blue Merle, a collie. In addition to being a big Zep fan, seeing them in Chicago a couple times in the '70s, and having a sister intrepid enough to meet Jimmy and Robert once or twice, my family raised Shelties, Shetland Sheepdogs.

my guess is that he means strider from lord of the rings because in some of their songs they hint at stuff in lord of the rings like in the battle of evermore and ramble on

srtider is the name of plant's dog, who he named after the book character, that is what he means by "blue eyed girl" to, because his dog had blue eyes!

Ive been to the place where they stayed, Its in North wales. Robert plants dog is named Stryder anyway.
