It's always so sad when great groups disband. The solo acts never measure up to what originating band was. Yes Drecker on her own is good.... but the synergy that a band has and how they play off each other seems not to be stressed enough in the success!!!!!!

fantastic! Truly original. A favorite of mine for 20 years now. I too hope to her live some day. I still listen to their first 3 albums frequently.

While they may have worked to create their own sound, which most bands do, Bel Canto's first album was produced by Giles Martin, Sir George Martin's son, who is most definitely a big shot producer! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bel Canto and find their music to be amazingly original and incredibly inspiring, but to assume they were in no way influenced by the music trends at the time, or helped by producers is simply wrong!
