My Atkins Diet Story

aka how one Iowa guy lost over 200 pounds and gained his life back. I can not say enough about how positively the Atkins Diet and low carb in general has been for me. I went from a 429 pound guy who could barely make it up a flight steps to a guy running half marathons and rejoining the National Guard. My health is fantastic, and my blood work (cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, heart) could not be better.

That's nice, and you are still unfortunately wrong about the unhealthy nature of saturated fats, the prodigious amounts of cheese, and the too much protein of the diet (this is high fat diet not a high protein diet). It's fine if you don't want to eliminate your misconceptions and ignorance.

4 years of excellent blood, urinalysis, and heart workups hasn't proved me wrong yet. Nor have the growing amount of studies like the new Israeli. Good luck to you.

If you want to keep going with this diet, go ahead. You'll die early, but at least you'll die slim.

dude, thats not what I mean, I know its impossible to eat NO CARBS. The fact of the matter is that if you eat more than your daily recommended amount of saturated fat, something found in prodigious amounts in meat and cheeses, then you're not eating healthy. Even too much protein and unsaturated fat is bad. Your body needs everything in moderation. And no, I wasn't questioning exercise, thats great if you run. Its great cardio.

One other thing - exercise is non-negotiable on Atkins as well (if you question it watch that video of mine). In fact, I just completed another full marathon last week and have another half marathon in a couple weeks, so I know the value of a good run as well.

Again where do you see anyone advocating NO carbs. I eat carbs every day and have since starting the diet. No one is advocating diet pills (watch my supplements video for evidence of that) to drop the weight. Finally watch your language or be blocked.

Actually I was overweight dropped 70 lbs in 6 months by eating healthy foods (incl. carbs), restricting and running 3 km daily so shut the fuck up. Diet Pills and medications are for the hopeless.

To this guy ( spartan ) just do this before posting here next time: get to fatten up to 429 pounds then LOSE IT ALL by "restricting calories and exercising" without any kind of medication or surgery. then we will take your opinion in consideration. If you don´t do it, don´t expect us to even read what you post here.
