Guru Sahib ji is the first Martyr of Khalsa Panth , great grandfather of Guru Gobind Singh ji.Satguru ji faced the tyrrany of Mughal Empire who unjustly gave him the barbaric ruling of Islamic shariat torture of 'yassa'whereby person is killed by torture without loss of drop of blood . This fatwa was given by jealous Muslim establishment for growing following of Satgur Nanak ji's house.
Only way this order would not be carried out was if Guru Arjun Dev ji became Muslim , which Satguru ji refused and he was made to sit on hot iron tawi(plate), was then boiled in hot water , hot red sand poured over his head but Satguru ji stood by Principles of home of Nanak ji . The pious body of our Satguru ji got coagulated , charred was then put in Ravi river of Punjab the event captured in the lines of this shabad written by Bhai Gurdas ji.
