It is a misconception that 82nd become 'legs' (infantry) on the ground. Ex., all officers and NCOs are req. to go through Ranger school, many 82nd go through SERE school, Jungle Readiness Training in Panama, Cold Weather Training in Canada & New York, Desert/Armor training in Cali and spec. training in Germany, Egypt, special ops in high risk areas, serving in the Sinai.. 12mi road marches weekly, high lvl of EOD/Demo, medical & so on training, the only Div w/ Apache's, no leg mos like drivers.

This vid brings back so many great memories when I went through Abn school in '89, later wen to 82nd 501st at Bragg then on to 7th SP Group. It was also the first time I encountered Marines...
