And if you do a score analysis of Irish music you will find the romantic, classical, and baroque progression of I-IV-V-I, which goes back to renaissance progression, etc. All basic western music is built on this cadential pattern--it is the form for all vocal tunes, concertos, symphonies, etc. All cultures just steal from each other. I love this song and I love Irish tunes, don't get me wrong, but if you want to thank a previous work for this, go back to the Renaissance.

no its just a miss prent on limewire,flogging molly never did it.....but they could do this song justice unlike thin lizzy and metallica...there my favorite band and i just seen them live it was badass,if you get a chance go to one of there shows

i guess he means that what is sung about how it's sung and the instrumental play of anything but rap (wich sucks ass) and Shit flop (sorry hip hop) in someway relates to the irish way of music... i guess u can say that anything with a guitar drums violin and such (besides piano) has got to do loads with the irish way of music PLUS loads of americans aint just Americans but IRISH AMERICANS some people dont even know it but thats just the way it is...
