No, then the people who create the robots will shoot each other. It all comes back to the man and his gun.

uavs have their place because they can fly a long time, like 50 hours at a time as opposed to 10 or so like an fa-18. When the uavs have done their job, the fa-18s can go mop up the job and be sure that it's done.

What an ugly plane. Navy admirals are never going to go for it.

"ban weapons like depleted uranium shells..."
Because contrary to common belief, they aren't harmful to you unless you eat them or inhale the dust of ground up DU.
darthgotica (March 2, 2008 at 5:36 pm)
The dust of DU is spreading through the air...
It can travel for miles before touching the ground...
And the amount of DU used in wars is measured in tones.

"It can travel for miles before touching the ground..."
If this is true, then by the time it DOES reach the ground it's so diffused it has no impact whatsoever.
darthgotica (March 3, 2008 at 10:15 am)
Fine then why doesnt USA use DU amunition in target practice in USA?
TacereM (March 3, 2008 at 3:27 pm)
Because it's not for target practice. It's for the real thing: war. Most targets are probably just wooden mock-ups. And the real tanks that are used on occasion are so old anything can penetrate them, and a modern DU round would either do right through it or completely obliterate it.
