Thales Goalkeeper
BackDefense Technology International (DTI)'s Ares weblog [ ] provides a daily update on international defense technology news. In support of a feature on ship self defense in DTI's December 2007 issue, Ares published a post on the Thales Goalkeeper 30-mm. close-in weapon system Nov. 28. This video, shot by DTI Senior European Editor Joris Janssen Lok on board the Dutch navy frigate HrMs Van Nes (F 833), shows the Goalkeeper firing its General Electric GAU-8 Gatling gun -- the very same gun that also equips the famous A-10A Thunderbolt close air support aircraft. The Goalkeeper is in frontline use with Britain's Royal Navy and the navies of the Netherlands, Qatar, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.

Thank you kindly for the reply you ignorant ass cheese. I always thought the Dutch were very kind and helpful to me when I was there. I have since found the use of the 35mm Dutch Naval AA gun. Obviously you are not Dutch, just some whackoff pretending to be.

OK kids, I have in my hand a 35mm dummy round from a "Goalkeeper". Not 30mm. 35mm. It is
15" long as compared to the 30mm GAU-8 round of 11.5" length, both with projectiles installed. Contact me and I'll send you a pic if you don't believe me. I think that firing 35mm rounds in an A-10 will make the plane fly backwards. Side note: The 35mm round has a ring rolled near the case neck like the 25mm Bushmaster. It causes the fired case to lengthen slightly to make for easy extraction. Cheers
