Google Lunar X Prize Team Announcement
BackOn February 21, 2008 at Google's headquarters, ten teams announce their intention to participate in Google's Lunar X Prize competition. Google will award $30 million in prizes for the first two teams to land a robotic rover on the moon and send images and other data back home.

i just wanted to say one more thing. google you should research nikola teslas energy ideas, such as his magnifying transmitter, it could help out the whole world with a wireless energy system using the world as a conducting body! he did it 100 yrs ago but it was not funded properly :(.

Who cares about putting a stupid rover on the moon? The Russians did that forty years ago with the lunahod I and Lunahod II.

All solar panel work and indeed all current electronics owe their very existance to the space program. So yes, most of the problems on earth (mostly energy)can be solved in space!
