Grind Stormer / V-5 Stage 1-2 NO MISS

Back

Nail-bitingly intense shooter from Toaplan for the Sega Genesis. Game features two game play modes.

Grind Stormer - Salamander style weapon system. Pick up the different icons to power-up. Bombs are available.

V-5 - Japanese version. Gradius/Life Force style power-up system. Collect diamonds to move the power-up grid ahead one space and select how to power up.

V-5 is way better in my opinion. Very balanced and more manageable if you die. As with a lot of Toaplan games, it is best to try to one life the game. Certain parts are really hard to recover from if you have no weapons.

Damn what a shooter!!! sadly MAME version lacks sound (as well some other Toaplan's games) and there are not much espectative about MAME team to solve that. At last Genesis version is very descent.

God this is one tough shmup when set to the Japanese version witht he Gradius-style bar. I'll even say it is the hardest Genesis game.

Gotcha, that's usually how it happened, huh? Thanks for answering!

Sweet skills and sweet game! Did Cave have any involvement in its development? It kinda looks like a pre-DonPachi shooter.

Yeah, some staff members from Toaplan (the company that developed this game) left and formed Cave. That's why it has that distinctive look and feel.
