Su-37 presentation video
BackSukhoi Su-37 presentation video. The Sukhoi Su-37 (NATO designation: Flanker-F) is a Russian multi-role jet fighter aircraft.
The Su-37 is a single-seat, all-weather, fighter and ground attack prototype aircraft, derived from the Sukhoi Su-27. The Su-27 is a successful Soviet fourth generation jet aircraft that has been exported to several nations, including China. The Su-37 test aircraft made its maiden flight in April 1996 from the Zhukovsky flight testing center near Moscow.
The Su-37 included several updates over the Su-27, including all-weather multi-mode phased array radar with synthetic aperture, terrain avoidance, terrain mapping and a rear facing radar. The airframe includes a percentage of parts made from composites, unlike the all-metal Su-27. Additionally, the Su-37 incorporates the AL-37FU engines equipped with thrust vectoring. Thrust vectoring allows the Su-37 to direct the exhaust gases in 3 dimensions, substantially improving maneuverability, especially at low speeds. The Terminator, as it is sometimes called, is also the first Russian aircraft with Hands On Throttle and Stick, or HOTAS, system. The first ever aircraft with HOTAS was the Avro CF-105 Arrow (also known as the Avro Arrow). The first production fighter aircraft with this system was the McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle. The Su-37 also stores a radar in the tailcone of the plane that allows it to fire missiles behind the plane.
The engine not only incorporates TVC but also is tough and very resistant to surge even during classic, inverted and flat spins, giving great reliability and maneuverability, even when AOA is as high as 180 degrees.
The Su-37 can carry air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons on 12 stations. The number of missiles and bombs carried can be increased to 14 with the use of multi-payload racks.
Russia has not ordered Su-37s, but it might find customers abroad, a market that now constitutes a sizable share of Sukhoi's income. Several prototypes have been built, but the aircraft is not in production.
The most recent rumors regarding the development of the Su-37 is that the project was cancelled due to lack of funding. The two Su-37 prototypes were converted into Su-35 Flankers, another Sukhoi prototype fighter.

Not to bash Russian planes either but their design is so overused, they all look the same to me same kind of nose, wings maybe they ran out of ideas and they are large aircrafts.
Those maneuvers *Pugachev Cobra* etc it's pretty useless in combat now it's all about who sees you first and fires or who can stay hidden longer and for such a large jet like the Su-27 and Su-37 they will light up the radar screen. F16 can fight anything out there it's such a well balanced fighter jet.

A used F-16 is much cheaper than a new Su35 but more capable. Therefore even former Eastern bloc countries are switching to Western-made planes such as F16 or Gripen.
BruteCommando (August 27, 2008 at 9:07 am)
Oh yeah and it's not that expensive that you have to sell 1/4 of your country to fix a squadron, i was always a fan of the F16 and Gripen the Saab Gripen is so underrated but it can match anything you throw at it outstanding aircraft so is the Eurofighter.
China has most of their SU-27 grounded because they are unreliable and expensive to maintain they still use them but they are a pain in the ass. They are more than happy with their J10's, SU-30's are a bit more reliable though

Gripen, IDF Kyungguk and Golden Eagle are all good aircraft but they can't match the capabilities of an F-16. Russian jets will be defeated by an F-4 Phantom flown by a Western pilot. The F16 is the most cost-effective solution ;it is better than anything Russian while being lower priced. The F15 is only available to selected countries.
BruteCommando (August 28, 2008 at 1:02 am)
Yep F16 can do it all, it's cheap to buy and maintain and you can make it do all kinds of missions. reconnaissance, strike, cas, cap it can be fitted with a lot of stuff to do it's mission.

F-15E is a strike bomber not a fighter, F-15C is the fighter and undefeated for 30+ years in service and has seen 3 wars facing Soviet/Russian made jets, AAA, SAM so i'll give the F15 some respect it is battle proven and not to mention Israel is using it also fighting in their last wars and are upgrading the F15 to their own liking they are one of the best when it comes to fighter weapon systems and avionics design.
SU-37 is Eurofighter and F22 territory btw, they are from the same generation.

They are actually better, with better electronics systems than SU37 and also more advanced logistics ,reliability and support structure. The Su37 isn't that much more 'maneuverable' than the F15K. If maneuverability is the only issue, an Extra 300 or a Su31 would be the best fighter plane.Russian jet engines also have a much shorter engine lifetime and are therefore less suitable for advanced countries. Even former Eastern Bloc countries are switching to Western planes.

You just don't get it. I give up. I don't know how else can I explain it to you. Su-37 is superior in every facet of combat to F-15E. Faster, more maneuverable, better weapon systems, better electronics, better engine, better everything. And since when is Korea an advanced country?
xxwzaebd (August 27, 2008 at 8:18 am)
Korea and Singapore are advanced countries. How many countries are capable of developing technologies such as wireless mobile multigigabit technology? Korea is No.2 in software with multiple indigenously developed office packages. XK11 is the world's first OICW to be put into service; the XK2 is the world's best tank which can accurately hit targets while moving. The KDX3 is more advanced than its Japanese counterparts.
