Sukhoi Su-30MK

Back

The Sukhoi Su-30 (NATO reporting name "Flanker-C") is an agile military aircraft developed by Russia's Sukhoi Aviation Corporation and introduced into operational service in 1996. It is an air superiority fighter that can also perform ground strikes.

The aircraft is a modernized version of the Su-27UB and has several variants. The Su-30K and Su-30MK series have had commercial success. The variants are manufactured by competing organizations: KNAAPO and the IRKUT Corporation, both of which come under the Sukhoi group's umbrella. KNAAPO manufactures the Su-30MKK and the Su-30MK2, which were designed for and sold to China. Irkut makes the long-range, multirole Su-30MK series. The series includes the Su-30MKI developed for the Indian Air Force and its derivatives, the MKM and MKA for Malaysia and Algeria respectively.

"multirole fighter FOR air dominance"

Exactly... the plane is FOR air dominance. Right?

There are dozens of aticles with US officials refering the f-22 as the first airdominance fighter.

Out of the sources you have given me I will only go with w w w . defense - update . com/products/f/F-22 . htm because of its neutralility.

Boeing is part of the project.

Multirole Fighter ie Strike fighter would be considered a classification however multi role is not a term for classifiying an aircraft. Air Dominance fighter yes but just "for Air Dominance" could mean the same for air-combat if im getting the language right.

Dmoniance fighter, air superiority names are given to the era when the times they were build.

Air pursuit: p-51, p-38, p-47

Legacy fighters: F-4, f-102,105, F-101, etc.

Air supperiotirty: F-14 F-15

Air dominance :F-22, F-35

The name only implys to the era in wich the aircraft was built.

I now see your point in Air-Dominance, the sources I look at still use Air-Superiority from all Air-Air fighters but they could change it for 4.5gen +
F22Ownage (May 30, 2008 at 12:21 am)
I wish they would show it's full potential. The F-22 has built in inhibitors limiting the pilot to 10.5 g's. They actually f-22 airframe is rated to 14g's. a neat side by side comparison here:

Many new planes including the F-22 can take very high G's over the limit allowed. But the Pilots cant 9G's is very high for a Human to take, this is one of the main factors unmanned aircraft will be the future of Combat Aircraft.

Retard.

Sorry for the insult... I thought I was replying to someone else... Thanks for keeping it civil.
