Ironically, Jonny Greenwood is a fine classical composer in his own right, as he showed with his searingly original score for There Will be Blood.
Re mablewable5: "classical" music is still being composed. In my opinion Thomas Ades is comparable in talent and sophistication to Mozart, Schubert et al. He's certainly a lot better than say, Bruckner or Rimsky.
