Soviets gymnastics of the 70's and 80's. Made mostly from training footage. Hope the clips from the Yurchenko doc aren't too dark, as they were on my computer until I lightened the screen up.

You mean Kips? I remember doing Kips back in the day. (1976-1992 when I was in gymnastics) Ugh I hated them. Gymnasts today are very lucky that they don't have to do Kips, lucky them.

No, kips are upstarts; the move that you do before you cast to handstand. Belly beats are where the stomach is whipped against the bottom bar, Very painful!!

No. Elvira Saadi appears in this wonderful montage, but not until 5minutes 36 seconds into it.I am not sure who the girl at 52 seconds is, obviously she was on the Soviet team, as she is with Ludmila Tourischeva, but I am not sure who it is.
