people have used religion- any doctrine to control masses. you cannot say religion is the problem, because when applies correctly religion can have pleasent affects on people. we see countries which had no religion turning towards relgiion and vice versa. the key is MODERATION. when i see western converts to islam in the west it boggles my mind because they go from one extreme to the other.

However, we really shouldnt insult the religion, but we should insult those religious leaders who are abusing the religion. After all, Islam was one of the reasons that the country was reunited till today. Separation of state and religion is the way to go! May Iranian government go to hell for bringing hell to my beloved country! It is all about power and money and the victim is the religion! Zendeh Baad Iran! Zoroaster was good!

They still have not educated themselves enough to separate akhoonds and political Islam with Islam as spiritual guidance. Most enlightened people have realized that politics and religion should be separate; what most Iranians intellectuals fail to realize is that our problem is not Islam as a whole; it's the current regime and politics mixed with religion.

ezsarah, women today can kick your ass in every aspect. Iran in the Greek wars had women in the military, we even had a female admiral in our navy. You really want to compete with most women of today, you would get your ass kicked. Islam breeds retards, Irans history gave women more rights than today. Before we jump on attacking Islam lets have an unemotional and civilized conversation. if you want to attack Islam, then attack Christianity Hinduism, Buddhism etc... When you have only hatred for a religion due to the rulers who are tyrants, then your reasoning and anger is directed to a wrong direction. Islam was brought to Persia by the Arabs, but Persians are the ones who really spread it to Asia. Persians wrote all four main Sunni books and three of four main shiet books.
