Patraeus was there as a soldier. He's not a politician. Someone should have reminded Ron Paul.
A couple issues: (1) Politicians in office behaving badly according to Ronnie. We know that already and it isn't likely to change.
(2) War is NOT trivial. But it isn't going to go away either. War is the side effect of the "I Me & Mine" principle. It's intrinsically sown into the fabric of universe. Anyone who thinks they can eradicate war is deluded.

Well exactly,Politicians do behave badly and we do know they do. But, Dr. Paul actually tells where they do and how to fix it. Just because the problems are there doesn't mean we should ignore them.
You are also correct, war isn't trivial in any way.But by us staying there right now is hurting us in 1000 different ways and is boosting them in another 1000.The war has is bringing our national budget to its knees. We are senselessly throwing away lives. All the while bolstering the enemies support

For exampleIslamic fundamentalist groups are gaining supporters from fed up Iraqis and others in the surrounding areas. This is totally understandable because if a foreign country invaded the USA you better believe I would not sit here quietly. If we left now we would be in less danger the people in the area would me much happier,we could start paying back the humongous debt owe.We would be safer from terrorist attacks. And some of the soldiers that would have died could have a life. What not tolike

Syria is the wild card in this future conflict (hopefully it will never come) since it is currently allied with the Shiite countries but has a Sunni majority.
Syria may well decide the fate of the conflict.

Israel shall not intervene if it isn't attacked, but if it is, well, we may see a nuclear holocaust if it comes down to it.
Anyways, Iraq shall serve as the secular backed government it has always been, but this time, it shall be enemies to the Sunni world.
The greater war shall come, and it will be a sad day when it comes.

It's called Divide and Conquer when it comes to the Middle East, we are attempting to eternally divide the Sunnis and the Shiites in the Middle East although, that will only make the situation much more complicated. Basically, we are fighting this war through an undefinable proxy and Al Qaeda will only be strengthened because of this reason. The Iraq war was just the beginning to this conflict, the real conflict comes between Saudi Arabia and Iran as well as Iraq, Syria which will manipulate it.

The new world order is being imposed on you, weather or not you want it to. Governed by Rockfeller, Rothchild, CFR, Bilderberg.
Its so currupt and minipulated that and its coming slowly, and carefully planned.
Search google for ZEITGEIST THE MOVIE
It's unfair business, unfair stories, unfair explanations. Playing God, knowing their plans for us
. Knowing where we are going, while we dont. It isnt nessesary, we dont need a new world
order. WAKE THE **** UP and spread the word !

ahh ironic (and very funny) that your comment is about the most trivial one on this page, and you're bitching...
