SAAF Rooivalk, shows it's capabilities at the Africa Aerospace and Defense (AAD) Air Show 2006 held at Ysterplaat Air force Base, Cape Town. The only attack helicopter able to do a full loop!

lol, i suppose that must be very difficult, because there are many aborted loops, some people say that the rooivalk copied some of its design elements from the apache, or maybe the other way around, i'm not 100% certain.

It was the first one to do one, that was bout ten years ago already, remember, companies pay millions to develop aircraft so it would only be a matter of time for other to learn how to do so.

Er, i don't know much about attack helicopters but the claim about it being the ONLY one able to do a full loop can't be right. There are videos of an apache and a eurocopter doing one.

im pretty sure if you look closely to the ''loops'' of the other attack helis...they dont actually complete the loop... but manouver the helicopter by using the rudders, turning to make it look like it complete the loop...the Lynx helicpoter.. can actually do a loop... and is also the fastst helicopter

Good Stuff! ..people tend to forget the rooivalk when they think gunships ..when infact its on par with any of the modern attack helicopters.

now i know noone will probably believe me, but my grandfather helped design the rooivalks electrical aviation components. He passed away in dec and left me a pic of the concept chopper while it was in development and has the signatures of all the test pilots who flew it underneath. u could probably check it up somewhere if u like. his name is Michelle RaveÉ. yes, hes french and it is spelled right.

Damn I never miss the AAD, but this year it was in CPT...dammit I couldnt go...im a aeroplane freak...im so sad, so thanks for uploading the video's
