White Lion is so much better than Golden Earring. Don't know how anyone could think otherwise. Singer is great, wonderful drumming, great bass+guitar.

I like the original Dutch version of the Rock 'nd Roll Golden Earring much better! Love them hehe, one of the best bands from Holland :D <3

I don't understand... "Cheesy 70's song" 70's and 80's sound very similiar to me. It's not like on new years 1979 they say "alright, time to change the way all music is played. So get on it". On a side note, the drumming here sucks, and the singers voice sounds ridiculous. Golden Earing plays this song much better.

Personally, i find that White Lion are FUCKIN GREAT thanks to Vito Bratta and Mike Tramp (the singer)

Surely only the writer of the song can portray the subject matter of the song as it was intended? Golden Earring was the original after all so thats wrong.
'People that like electric guitars' I'm assuming is your phrase for guitarists. If so, then the guitar is actually much more basic with less interesting licks than the orginal.
In addition, I wouldn't even say this is harder, the drummer is crap compared. And remember, they didn't come up with it.
Cheesy 70's song? Rubbish.
