saacson: a part of what bonos work in africa strives for, is exactly some of the solutions you are raising! 12 Million children were in schools now. edun provides jobs to them as seamstresses & other capacities, which is what the africans want to do, not handouts. they are trying to get laws so they can work in trade businesses. and yes the the concerts do help... it provides the basis for the power of 250 Million members of one campaign around world, the kind of clout that can make change real!

First of all, he earned that money by putting time on it, and trust me, he wasted much of his time on his career, and look where he is now, one of the famous artists in the world, do you even know how much he donated to africa? As he put his time on his career, he puts twice much more by helping poor kids and people with AIDS, and you complain about his sunglasses? what you expect him to do? live lika e bum, like ur father? chill your beans man, everyone knows Bono is a fucktard for more than just his sunglasses! he's a self-righteous vanity-spastic who's only concern is not that of the 3rd world countries problems with poverty or aids, but of his own self image and ability to rub shoulders (and probably balls) with the elite of the world.he's probably been given a small living quarters next to Williw Nelson in whatever mountain based secret bunker that george bush has made for when the world gets nuked to bits
