Blue Plaque to honour Richard Trevithick 1771-1833

Back

This is the unveiling of a blue plaque at the Royal Victoria and Bull hotel in Dartford, Kent on the 17th March 2007. Richard Trevithick lived and worked in Dartford for a few years, prior to his untimely death from pneumonia in 1833.
After the unveiling cerimony there is some film of a few of the attractions at Central park in Dartford, which turned up in aid if this event. Thanks must go to Phil Hoskens from the Trevithick society, who travelled up from Cornwall (under his own steam) for this event, and also to the organisers who had little over two weeks to arrange it all.
