Summary: The plane was scheduled to perform a series of fly-bys at an air show. The plane was to descend to 100 ft. altitude with landing gear and flaps extended. The automatic go-around protection was inhibited for the maneuver. During the maneuver, the plane descended thru 100 ft. to an altitude of 30 feet and hit trees at the end of the runway. The aircraft was totally destroyed by the successive impacts and violent fire which followed. The pilot allowed the aircraft to descend through 100 ft. at slow speed and maximum angle of attack and was late in applying go-around power. Unfamiliarity of the crew with the landing field and lack of planning for the flyby.

i think i might be a little more knowledgeable than most when it comes to the plane crash in this video since i worked as a flight instructor (4 years), and i have extensive knowledge of UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles) since i taught Aviation Sciences AVS1002 at Columbia

this plane was UNMANNED and FLOWN by a COMPUTER- no passengers were aboard.

just thought i'd mention that to help everyone out

Captain Asseline flew manually. He had been instructed by Air France to overfly the airfield at 100 ft above ground. When he increased throttle to level off at 100 ft, the engines did not respond. After some seconds he got worried and thought there was something like a short-circuit in the completely computerized throttle control. So he pulled the throttle back all the way and forth again. By that time the aircraft had touched the trees.

3 passengers were killed, at least 50 injured.

this is NOT flight 296 but rather an UNMANNED PLANE FLOWN BY A COMPUTER. you can confirm this by watching the video on my profile page

gosh your an idiot...this plane was 100% unmanned as it was flown from the ground with an r.c. from a UAV monitoring station

just like the bottle of scotch beside your p.c. this plane was empty
