laifalbert: Keith Urban is NOT rock. Originally, he was modern country...his more recent singles, however, have gone to pop, which is awful, considering he is capable of playing some outstanding country guitar!

I think he may have been referring to the part where he plays all the rock segments. Just call it a hunch.

keymaker2112: Even if he was, in fact, referring to the parts where Urban goes into numerous rock riffs, the guitar in the whole song pretty much does have a rock sound to it, even though he's not rock...nowadays, he's not country either and, instead, he's pure pop.

I agree. He can do things with a guitar that 95% of guitarists out there can't do, so why waste that talent on simple radio friendly songs? Check out his live DVD. He definitely shows what he is capable of as a live performer.

Revomad1: His live DVD is pretty awesome...I only wish he did his instrumental songs on it. I mean, "Rollercoaster" and "Clutterbilly" are great country instrumentals, but most people haven't heard those two Urban tracks unless they have his first album and his album with his trio, The Ranch.

I do like how he lets his other guitarist play some lead in a short jam they do after one song--forget what song it was after though.
