Mohammad - The Greatest Man That Ever Lived

Thomas Carlyle in 'Heroes and Hero Worship and the Heroic in History,' 1840

"The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to ourselves only."

A. S. Tritton in 'Islam,' 1951

The picture of the Muslim soldier advancing with a sword in one hand and the Qur'an in the other is quite false.

De Lacy O'Leary in 'Islam at the Crossroads,' London, 1923.

History makes it clear, however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated.

Reverend Bosworth Smith in 'Muhammad and Muhammadanism,' London, 1874.

"Head of the State as well as the Church, he was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without the Pope's pretensions, and Caesar without the legions of Caesar, without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a police force, without a fixed revenue. If ever a man ruled by a right divine, it was Muhammad, for he had all the powers without their supports. He cared not for the dressings of power. The simplicity of his private life was in keeping with his public life."

Alphonse de LaMartaine in 'Historie de la Turquie,' Paris, 1854.

"Philosopher, Orator, Apostle, Legislator, Conqueror of Ideas, Restorer of Rational beliefs.... The founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?"

Jules Masserman in 'Who Were Histories Great Leaders?' in TIME Magazine, July 15, 1974

Perhaps the greatest leader of all times was Mohammad, who combined all the three functions. To a lesser degree Moses did the same.

and everyone else in here...you said some bad things here + that is why I responded. When I see the anger + name calling I became upset. I know we don't agree on each others faith, + I have seen alot of bloodshed because of it. All I can say now is that, I have to let it go + leave it in Gods' hand. I don't hate anyone, I just dislike what I see. I don't wish anyone any harm or ill will. I love all, for that is the true Spirit of God. Please forgive me then, + take care + May God Bless.

I agree that Jesus (Pecae be upon him) was a Prophet of very high standard! But not that he was God or anything near God. He was the mesias but not God

we know that the prophets Jesus and Moses had bigger visual miracles, but they didn't do them by them selfs, God did those miracles for them,,,
the Prophet Mohammad greatness come from his ethics and his effects.
try to read about him, you will be surprised. he was a gentle honest trusted and lovely person.
you don't know how much Muslims love him , we love him more than ourselves.

Cont Surah 4:43
For Allah blots out sins and forgives again and again.
muslimah1977 (October 6, 2008 at 11:26 pm)
Rickru used word"drunked"in Surah 4:43.
While the ACTUAL words used in this Surah r:
O you who believe!do not approach prayers with a mind befogged, until you can understand all that you say, nor in a state of ceremonial impurity, until after washing your whole body. If you are ill, or on a journey, or one of you comes from offices of nature or you have been in contact with women, and you find no water, then take yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands.
muslimah1977 (October 6, 2008 at 11:20 pm)
Rickru1 has problems with Surah 4:43
that a person should not pray with a mind befogged, dirty or if touched a woman..
Rick is unable to understand this.
Rick..it is for both men and women.when men is unconcious or not understanding what he is saying.this way he cannot pray.if he is dirty he cannot pray OR if he had any intimacy with a lady, he cannot pray.
Same for ladies too, they also need to understand the words of Salah, need to wash, when dirty and if they had intimacy with any man.

The word which u used " Filthy" for Surah:111
I wonder what is filthy in it. U think giving punishment to any person because of his foolish and arrogant behaviour, is filthiness?

Then what will u say about the rules of ur government?

R They Filthy?
muslimah1977 (October 6, 2008 at 11:22 am)
By the way, what is so "filthy" in this Surah"111:1-5"

So what..if Abu Lahab was cursed. He desreved that curse. becoz, Abu Lahab and "like Abu Lahabs" cursed the Lord of the heavens and earths..use ur common sense..whoever deny "The existance" of God or "worship" false Gods..is no doubt....cursed and will go to Hell.
