Anyone know who built this vid?? This guy must be a super-genius! I bet he's incredibly sexy too. Yep...guys who build global ballistic missile defense videos are hooooot! The only thing that could make this guy any cooler is if he had robot arms...hehe:D

i guess pres. bush and pres. medvedev agree on many things acording to their recent meeting (topics such as iran and n. korea), however this is one they disagree on....i say let them have the technology as well so everyone can be protected...no complaints after that.

This video must be made a long while ago. Just look at the shape of the f-22. They have the shape of the yf-22 actually, so it's safe to say that this video was made early in the f-22 development, probably a little after 1991.

I think this video was made by Northrop Grumman, a U.S. defense contractor. You might be able to locate some information about it and the production on the internet; but that might be tough to do... I'm sure it was never intended to be displayed on YouTube, or leave the offices of Northrop and the U.S./Coalition governments.

I don't think so. Commercials from defense contractors are very common. I've seen several of them. Some are even downloadable from official websites. Unless, it's a black project, anyway.

Can anyone enlighten me on this. Why does some of the missles (i think 2 of them) keep exploding sideward repeatedly while it flies toward its target? Thanks!
twinoceans (June 20, 2008 at 9:08 am)
Actually, I think I got it now. Since there's no air in resistance in space, having fins to direct your flight is useless. So instead, the missle thrusts its kenetic energy in different directions to maneuver its flight toward the target.

Yes, that is exactly the right idea... I believe these bursts are probably also capeable of radically changing the warhead's speed over the short term. There is very little gravity up there, especially for something of that size; so it would be very easy to change the velocity in extreme ways: Like if the inital target path was incorrect; and the KEI found itself off course at its point of intercept; it could then compensate and redirect its flight to intercept the target at a second location.

That is called a "Kinetic Energy Interceptor" (KEI) It is an experimental warhead for use against ballistic missiles. (ABM - Anti Ballistic Missile)

The jets are micro-bursts which propel the warhead through the vacuum of space. Wings (as you pointed out earlier) don't have any effect in the upper atmosphere (not enough air resistance.)

The bursts can accelerate, decelerate, and change the course of the ABM warhead, so as to intercept an incoming hostile warhead.

this is to narrator89 do you know that s400 is anti aircraft missile and not an ballistic capable of carring nukes and russias missiles probbaly wouldnt evan hit the us because the quality is so bad.
