kiaora to monzilla who says he maori maori are polynesians we make up the southern point of the polynesian triangle Rapanui or easter island makes up the eastern point and Hawaii makes up the northen point so get your facts right...... and maori speak very similiar to that of french polynesia ans Cook Island my family understand alot of eastern polynesian language

lot of Maori..(esp. The older ones) don't consider themselves Polynesian.... b/c the Maori never surrendered to the Pakeha, other Islanders did.
