It has a rather unique sound (like all Armstrong songs), but when it comes to this specific song I personally prefer Frank Sinatra.

I disagree, Louise's version is much better in my opinion. I dunno, I just dislike Sinatraz voice - and i worship Armstrong's deep basso voice ;D

This is probably the most morbid version of the song because the musical arrangement sounds like a New Orleans jazz funeral. It's grotesque and nightmarish and beautiful all at once.

Louis' version was a hit in Australia in the mid 50's. I believe the BBC banned it in Britain and the later Darin version was a hit there.
