hmmmm... wat setting is better on the m16,burst shots or automatic fire as far as accuracy?

I served in the USMC for 5 years. 0861 with 3/11 and 3/7 Marines. what it all comes down to, regardless of differences, the M16 still KILLS. I am alive here today because of it. Keep it clean amd maintained, your life depends on it.

there is another rifle that you prefer?

You have NO idea what you are talking about. Simple fact.

You have something to back that up or you simply like running your mouth? I only rely on facts, not personal preference, and everything I said is backed by hard evidence. So don't waste my time.

What you say is a bit strange, though. I do not know how much trouble exactly you had, but you admitted it jammed "now and then". What exactly would you do when someone is firing at you and you have one of those "now and then" moments with your rifle? You might very well die. The only thing you could test your rifle for was accuracy. That the m16 has. But in battle, FIREPOWER is more important than accuracy (empirical data) since enemies move, and the m16 lacks that. And, it jams. In combat.
rpgplayer101 (May 20, 2008 at 3:13 am)
True to that.
It jammed on me a few times when it got dirty, but as I had never fired any other gun then the m16 at that point, still havent by the way, I cant really complain.
But I see what you mean, jamming like that would very well mean death in battle, I just hope I wont never have to find that out for myself ;)

are you saying that the AK-47 never jams? I would sure like to see that. plus, with the proper training and use, it is just as good as the AK.
alexabar (May 30, 2008 at 11:41 pm)
Yes I am. It is a fact that the ak47 is known for its reliability (+ power), and the m16 is known for jamming (+ lack of power). First firing range I ever came to, my m16 jammed on me every time I reloaded unless I did it VERY slowly and carefully, which means I would get shot in combat. Obviously that is not the main argument (main point is the empirical data), but simply one example.

my father was in the army, and when asked what he would choose between the AK and the M16, he said the m16 hands down. I really think it depends on how they are maintained and used. I am not in any disputing the power and reliability of the AK, but I think It depends on the user and his maintenance/training.
