Letterman loses it
BackFNC's Bill O'Reilly returned to the Late Show Friday night for round two with David Letterman over Iraq. In the show taped on Monday but not aired until Friday, Letterman expressed disgust with the war: "So we've made a mistake in war, so we stay there and kill as many Americans as we possibly can? That's the way you get out of a mistake?" At another point, Letterman fretted: "It's all about oil. That's why we're there. Big deal." When O'Reilly asserted that "it isn't 'We're a bad country, Bush is an evil liar.' That's not true," Letterman retorted that "I didn't say we were a bad country. I didn't say he was an evil liar" and charged: "You're putting words in my mouth just the way you put artificial facts in your head."

Why does Letterman keep talking about the Americans that died? What about the Iraqis and Afghans that died? And the innocent civilians? And children. It's THEIR country. Why doesn't he mention them. Their casualties are far higher than ours and it's not right. This war needs to end! Vote for a change.

O'Reilly is totally outclassed here. Letterman has much more experience at this.

We were attacked 12-7-1941. A little event called Pearl Harbor, ever heard of it? Then Germany and Japan decalared war on US. You are SCUM for trying to blame the United States for entering World War II. Are you out of your f*cking mind or just completely stupid!?!
Those ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. You on the other hand are just ignorant and offensively so.

We also fund Israel with the most aid to any country, run by a government that occupies and oppresses people. We give/gave money and/or have/had close relations with the Duvalier dictatorship, Pakistan, Jordan, Pinochet, and countless others. These are ALL interest driven agendas that run directly into what America was actually supposed to stand for. Rant over.

So after years of sanctions that kept syringes and chlorine for clean drinking water, among other vital everyday material, out of Iraq which lead to the death of a half a million children, we sent in the military. And yet we continue to fund Saudi Arabia, which spends millions to spread the ideology of a violent sect (wahabism) that says all other Muslims and non-Muslims will go to Hell. We fund the Egyptian government that imprisons and tortures dissenters and rigs its own elections.

O'Reilly also said that the intentions of going into Iraq were for the right reasons, i.e. getting rid of Saddam. Yea, they wanted to get rid of Saddam, but why? They helped him out so much with weapons, chemicals, int'l support, and military logistics, why now all of a sudden stop Saddam? Saddam wasn't playing ball, and every other Iraqi leader that didn't play ball (e.g. nationalizing the Iraq Petroleum Comapny) died in a coup and was denounced by the West.
