Nintendo Review - LJN Volume 1 (Spider Man & Jaws)

Back

Hey, this is the first of 3 LJN reviews. In this review, I take on Jaws and Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six. I made this series of reviews with the realisitc intent of finding an LJN game I would honestly enjoy playing. I was 0 for 2 on these efforts.

I'll be listing up parts 2 and 3 for my subscribers in the upcoming days. I don't know when I'll have to finish up this series, though I eventually hope to. Keep an eye out for when I do.

the Jaws LJN game is based on Jaws: The Revenge, the 4th film of the series. This film has a character named "Hoagie" who flies a small cessna-style plane. This is where the Jellyfish bonus game comes from. Also, the collecting of conch shells was a big part of Jaws: The Revenge, and thats why its a big part of the game. A "tracker" is also used to find the shark in JTR, so thats another similarity.

Fortunately, I rented Jaws before I bought it. One of the most boring games I have ever played.

I played this game one time 15 years ago, then played it this time around. Beat it in two tries. So glad it was my friend's game when I tried it.

the jaws game looked ridiculous!! now u know what would be kind of fun? not extremely fun or anything, but if they came out with that JAWS game exept for its less simple and its a next gen

I, too liked WFRR, and The Punisher was a great 8-bit shooter. But I agree, for the most part, LGN games were complete garbage. Which makes me wonder, how did they secure the rights to so many popular culture icons?

I've done gameplay footage for Volume 4, just haven't edited the video yet. I did play The Punisher. No comment yet, I'll save it for the review.
