F-35 JSF Simulator in operation
BackThis is part of a great show that aired on the night of Feb/6th 2008 in Melbourne Australia.
The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a single-seat, single-engine, stealth-capable military strike fighter, a multi-role aircraft that can perform close air support, tactical bombing, and air-to-air combat.
The JSF program was created to replace various aircraft while keeping development, production, and operating costs down. This was pursued by building three variants of one aircraft, sharing 80% of their parts:
F-35A, conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant.
F-35B, short-takeoff and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant.
F-35C, carrier-based (CV) variant.

Go check out the DAS system installed in the f-35. It basically renders enemy aircraft's maneuverability useless. Just type in "f-35 DAS system" and search! The technology of the system is just alien-like and will give it unmatched air to air capability.

i have a magazine on this and let me astate something it says.
"Lockheed MArtin unveiled the first F-35B short Take-off/Vertical landing (STOVL) Varients of the lightning II joint strike fighter at is facility on 18 December '07. The F-35 is the first fighter to combine stealth and (STOVL) capabilities with the super sonic speed. The F-35 will replace the F/A-18 Hornet and operated by the USMC and harriers by the RAF. Royal Navy and Italian Navy will begin in 2010.
Brilliant Aircrafft.

id love to ask jon besley whats better... f-22 or f-35
jayers2 (July 29, 2008 at 5:59 pm)
Depends on what you intend to do in enemy airspace.

well strike missions with f-35 escorted with the f-22
bujoun76 (August 3, 2008 at 7:48 am)
They both do very different missions! But soon the F-22 will be able to do the F-35's air to ground job far better! The main reason the F-35 is around is because the USAF needs lots of planes to attack the large numbers of targets in a war. And the F-35 costs a mere third of the Raptors massive price tag.
