No. The death penalty if off in many countries. Its rely hard to justfy a musder on a moral level. And to expect the machine to do it for you is just to overconfident. And when that thing just shot someone by accident who you will blame ?

But isn't this what the US is doing with its Predator Drones and other UAV bombing machines in Iraq in Afghanistan...

I'm sorry to say but it seems the future will yield mechanised killing machines in the name of safety and efficiency...

We are creating a sick non-human world...

Yes they do. And as usual, the lessons from that will be learned when many lives are lost. So it will happen but I dont want to stay and do nothing, at least we can speak out . So this is the way it will be , not the way its supposed to be.

No with the US UAVS there is a human controlling the trigger at all times.
It cannot attack unless a human gives the order.
They could automate them but don't because well it would go for all sorts of non combatant targets.
AIs are not good at discerning threats they just act and react to a stimulus.
If this is automated it could be defeated by a decoy mounted on another robot or even a person shaped balloon.
Get it to fire off all it's ammo then walk by it.

ditto...all these years of playing vidgames has taught me 2 things regarding remote sentry bots...they can only be overcome by rocket launchers and madd athletic skillz
