'The Bell AH-1 Cobra is an attack helicopter. It shares a common engine, transmission and rotor system with the older UH-1 "Huey". It is variously called the "HueyCobra," "SeaCobra," "SuperCobra," "Whiskey Cobra," "Zulu Cobra," "Viper," or "Snake"; depending on the model.

The AH-1 was once the backbone of the United States Army's attack helicopter fleet, but has been replaced by the AH-64 Apache in Army service. Upgraded versions continue to fly with the United States Marine Corps (AH-1W) and several other users...'

Well its a question of just having them, we got jet fighters,transport choppers,apcs,tanks(albeit an upgraded T-76 thats freaking old)we need it attack choppers to round it out u know? and u dont know if ur gonna get attacked one day....

Listen Dumbass, my father is an engineer on the AH-1Z at Bell Helicopter and I can say without any doubt the new AH-1Z is by far the most agile, fastest helicopter ever built and would out fly and out perform the Apache any day of the week.

I was stating that the Super Cobras are supposed to be atleast ranked #2. O ya AH-1Zs aren't i service yet? Bah I don't know must of slipped me up. Tell me if it is in service?

The Marines have taken delivery of several of the new Super Cobras they just have not been deployed into combat yet but are scheduled to be deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan in the spring of 2009.
