It makes so much sense! Remember the part when Maverick finally gets dinner at Charlie's (big hint there in that name), he abruptly leaves to take care of something else; then she (Charlie) reappears in the elevator dressed like a dude in hopes that she can turn on Maverick. All this after not showering while playing a topless game of volleyball with the dudes ahhahahaha.
