I think the reason we and apes look similar is that God used a similar model for both due to the environments they lived in. Humans do have similar exterior appearances, but are in no way related than any more than an Opossum and a human are, simply because an Opossum has a paw similar to a man's hand.

The American gray squirrel used to be a guppy (guppsquirrelaquarborealcusic: which means tree fish}. Over 81 million years they developed a twitchy tail and appetite for acorns. Their front fins became hands. Gray squirrels have been lately seen in creeks. Who knows: 81 million years from now they may be completely reverted back to marine life. We'll just have to wait and see.

The Point im trying to make is whether you believe nothing happens after we die or not. We are in that same state of void back where we started. And if you wanna count time as a 4th dimension or not since its manmade. So from nothing Consciouss and awareness are brought into being. When we die we are nothing but who are we to say that it wont happen again. In whatever form our energy may take.

Because Space and Time as a Continuum lasts for Eternity. Time didnt exist before a beginning. If you were nothing before you were born why wouldnt it happen again in some other point in space and time within the universe?
Nothingness > Big Bang > Matter
Nothingness > Spawning of a conscioesness within the physical realm > Death >(Nothingness?)(Again?) Or Maybe however long it may take for that same energy to manifest itself into something phyisical creating another consciousness.

The subject on whether God exists or not is highly debatable but lets leave that for another topic. But no matter how you see it their WILL be life after death in some way or the other.
