Milton Friedman - Greed

Back

In his book "Capitalism and Freedom" (1962) Milton Friedman (1912-2006) advocated minimizing the role of government in a free market as a means of creating political and social freedom.

An excerpt from an interview with Phil Donahue in 1979.

Friedman should have said, "It rewards productivity---which is a major virtue." Other virtues get rewarded with other things, friendship with friendship, loyalty with loyalty, and trust with trust. So isn't it just that productivity gets rewarded with products.

I absolutely love the way he twisted nonsense and makes me want to buy it! It sounds so nice, but I actually did research on Einstein's theoretical discoveries the newly discovered field of nuclear fission in 1939. It turns out he applied for grants for help on designing this new type of bomb, and true to their non-interventionist government style of 1939 they denied him. Would Friedman had his way we would still be at war with japan

oh yeah...that works.

Greed is a great moral family value.

Wouldn't that prevent the people from running short when getting ready to pay taxes though? Plus, he was an advocate for lower taxes in any circumstance.
stealthswimmer (October 5, 2008 at 9:10 am)
how did his policy allow central governments increased ability to collect taxes?

I just recently started gettin into readin stuff about economics so I'm interested.

For all Freidman's faults and enabling of State power, he none the less was always an advocate of individual freedom, even if not the sound money that keeps govts in check.

See his "Free to Choose" series right here on google.

Then go to the Mises Institute at mises d o t o r g for even better economics and history that pees all over the lies of the establishment elites and their court historian spinmeisters we all suffered under in compulsory public schools.

Rothbard/Mises are right this minute today being vindicated like they never have.

The power of our Govt over we Americans, who used to be the principles and Govt the mere agent, has today expanded magnitudes, the unintended consequences I will guarantee you will be the govt installed albatross of the extinguished beacon of freedom to the world by the moneychangers who've robbed us blind since 1913.
