The F-35 is the result of the Defense Department's Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program, which sought to build a multirole fighter optimized for the air-to-ground role with secondary air-to-air capability. The JSF requirement was to meet the needs of the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allies, with improved survivability, precision engagement capability, and reduced life cycle costs. By using many of the same technologies developed for the F-22, the F-35 has the opportunity to capitalize on commonality and modularity to maximize affordability.

The only Plane this little fighter will have to worry about is the F-22 Raptor.All others will fall out of the sky at it's whim.

"Stealth" only works well if you have TOTAL air superiority.When your flyin'out after hitting the target you better hope there's no Su30's around!

Yea and the SU 30's better hope there are no 22's around. The 30 might be able to take the 35 but, the 22 will eat it for lunch.

Of course.I'm just thinkin' the RAAF want to buy F35. Its ridiculously expensive, its not yet operational,its payload is a joke.The Yanks dont want to sell F22.I'd prefer Su35, more bang for your buck.Having said that the F35(C) is still an incredible machine.

F-35 is a strike fighter.
Designed to attack ground, naval targets, but has the capabilities at air to air combat.

It beats any current plane out simply because of its Stealth capabilities.

Then there is advanced sensors, weapons, pilots(helmet and person), Stovl, and thrust vectoring.

so ur saying its kinda of like the F-22 but i like the F-35 better in a way i mean it can hover its the first hover plane isnt it? i mean also the VF something 4got is cool to it had alot of test runs and was almsot cancled rite?
