Hes going slow cos its a show for safety reasons imagine this thing off a carrier in the pacific fighting with a mig haha The Iranians have these haha
nateLFO (January 29, 2008 at 5:32 am)
The Iranians have about 30 of them, but they can't fly them. They have no training for maintenance let alone parts for them. They have almost no flight hours on the airframe.
fightningduck (April 29, 2008 at 7:40 am)
you don't know what your talking about, they have 79 and around fifty can still fly. they are undergoing extensive upgrades right now which is one of the reasons the navy retired and destroyed theirs. They intercept our fighters in the gulf all the time, which is just one way we find out how they are doing
StringfellowHawke71 (May 19, 2008 at 9:34 pm)
And what gulf is this supposedly happening in? Out of my 15 years as a Tomcat driver I have never seen ANY Iranian F-14's intercept any of our fighters. None of their airframes are working thats why they are so despirate to get their hands on the retired airframe parts. BTW they ordered 70 planes but only got 30 delievered before they found out that Grumman Tech's were messing with the fire control systems.
fightningduck (May 20, 2008 at 2:12 am)
Don't bullshit, you were NOT a tomcat pilot. It was mostly Iranian techs that were loyal to the US that sabatoged the F-14s when the revolution happened, besides most of that info is still classified. If you don't take my word for it just go look it up, along with the fact that we sold them 79 and the majority can still fly. If you are going to post more claims else where that you are a pilot a least make sure you spell correctly.

they sold 80 tomcats not 79 the n·80 is still in usa.was never delibered because it was a test bed for new development for the iranians.and you are correct the iranians still fly the tomcat.
